Grew up on the island country of Okinawa in a village called 今帰仁村Nakijin. Parents work a farm and ranch, and grandpa works the front desk of the small onsen in town. White sand and beautiful waves—that was our way of life. Grandpa gave me an old polaroid camera, and the obsession began there. Always loved taking pictures, and eventually it became a job. But nothing beats an instant camera. Little photos that commit a physical moment to eternity.

But it's getting harder to get out of the city these days. Work became management, and management takes time. Catwalks and pinups every day, the flash of the softbox burning a permanent shadow on his eyes. The money is incredible, and the view from his 45th floor apartment lets him watch Fuji come to life every morning with a bath of sunlight.

Well, at least when he's home. Work has him all over the place.
